Cast Glass
Casting in glass takes advantage of unique nature of glass to take various forms from solid to liquid. I used the “lost wax” method to cast these pieces in a kiln. At about 1500 degrees the glass is liquid and flows into void of a refractory mould that I create from a wax model. When the piece is cooled, the solid glass retains the texture and detail of the original model.
